Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has awarded a total of N10 million in grants to eight exceptional young entrepreneurs who emerged as finalists in the third Amplifier Business Clinic and Pitch Contest. The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 2024 International Youth Day, held at Campos Square, Lagos Island, on August 26, 2024.
Maryam Atolagbe clinched the top spot in the contest, earning a grant of N2.5 million to fuel her entrepreneurial ambitions. The Amplifier Business Clinic and Pitch Contest, an initiative designed to empower 100 young entrepreneurs, provides participants with the tools, knowledge, and resources necessary to turn their business ideas into successful and sustainable ventures.
Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the grant represents more than just financial support; it is a strategic investment in the future of Lagos State. “This grant is an investment in your dreams, enabling you to contribute meaningfully to the economic development of our state,” he stated.
The 2024 International Youth Day, themed ‘From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,’ underscored the critical role of digital technology in bridging the gap between today’s youth and a prosperous, sustainable future. Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated his commitment to leveraging digital platforms to connect young Lagosians to opportunities that will drive progress and development.
