A 17-year-old boy tragically lost his life on Wednesday after stepping on a live wire while working alongside his stepfather at a construction site in Alagbado, Lagos. The incident, which has left the family devastated, was confirmed by the Lagos State Police Command on Saturday.

The teenager was assisting his stepfather, a professional welder, in constructing scaffolding at a building site on Church Street, when he accidentally came into contact with an exposed live wire connected from an electric pole. The boy was electrocuted instantly and was later pronounced dead by medical staff at a nearby hospital.

The mother of the deceased, whose name has been withheld, reported the incident to the Agbado Police Division on August 2nd at 1:00 p.m., shortly after being informed by her younger brother. According to the police report, no signs of violence were found on the boy’s body, and the stepfather has been taken in for questioning as the investigation continues.
