Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON) has sharply criticized Professor Udenta Udenta for his recent remarks targeting former Speaker Yakubu Dogara, labeling them as unfounded and irrelevant. During a press briefing in Abuja on August 16, 2024, ELFON’s leadership denounced Udenta’s statements as an unwarranted intrusion into Bauchi State’s political affairs.

ELFON condemned Udenta, a non-Bauchi native, for his criticism of Dogara, who has urged Governor Bala Mohammed to focus on governance rather than personal projects. The forum highlighted the pressing issues in Bauchi State, including a severe educational crisis with many children lacking access to adequate schooling facilities. ELFON stressed that while Dogara holds the governor accountable, Udenta’s critiques lack both local understanding and moral authority.

The press release, signed by key youth leaders including Amb. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel, Comr. Halimatu Idris, and Rt. Hon. Ayomikun Adeshina, emphasized that Udenta’s comments divert attention from pressing state issues like high rates of out-of-school children and poor infrastructure. They accused Udenta of attempting to gain political favor by attacking Dogara, rather than addressing the governance challenges within his own region.

ELFON called for a retraction and apology from Udenta, arguing that his criticism reflects poorly on his own credibility and distracts from the real needs of Bauchi State. The group also challenged Udenta to address similar issues within his own domain before casting stones from afar.
