Patience Umo Eno, the wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has passed away following a brief illness. The sad news was confirmed by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, early Friday morning.
According to Ememobong, the First Lady died on Thursday, September 26, 2024, surrounded by her family at a hospital. Her untimely death has left the entire state in mourning, as tributes continue to pour in from well-wishers and citizens alike.
Governor Umo Eno expressed deep gratitude to those who have supported his family during this challenging period. He also reassured the people of Akwa Ibom that despite the personal tragedy, his commitment to serving the state remains resolute.
“The family submits to the will of the Almighty and requests prayers and privacy at this time,” Ememobong stated, adding that further details would be provided as necessary. The family, in their grief, is asking for the continued prayers and support of the public.
While the cause of death has not been disclosed, this loss is a significant blow to the people of Akwa Ibom. Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren.
