The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has initiated an immediate investigation into bribery claims made by Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, a controversial cross-dresser and social media personality.

In a video shared by popular blogger Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky alleged that some EFCC officers received a bribe of ₦15 million from him to drop money laundering charges. Bobrisky, who was previously convicted for currency abuse, made these explosive claims, prompting swift action from the EFCC.

In a statement released on Tuesday by EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale, the anti-graft agency confirmed that its chairman had formed a team to investigate the allegations. The EFCC has invited both Bobrisky and blogger VeryDarkMan to appear at its Lagos Directorate to provide assistance in uncovering the truth behind the alleged bribery.

“The EFCC will ensure that this matter is thoroughly investigated, and the findings will be made public,” Oyewale stated, reassuring the public of the agency’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

This development follows Bobrisky’s conviction in April, where he was sentenced to six months imprisonment for violating currency laws.
