A suspected gas explosion has rocked the home of Nigerian journalist Abdulkareem Haruna, leaving two people severely injured and a newborn baby in a coma. The explosion, believed to have been caused by a faulty gas cylinder, occurred on Monday as the family was preparing for the naming ceremony of the infant.

Zagazola Makama, a Lake Chad Basin counterterrorism expert, shared the tragic news on his X handle, revealing the incident sent shockwaves through the neighborhood. The blast tore through the kitchen, causing significant damage and leaving the family devastated.

According to Makama, two individuals sustained serious injuries during the explosion. Most heartbreakingly, the newborn baby, just days old, was caught in the blast and slipped into a coma due to the trauma.
