The Globe Chambers of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has kicked off preparations for a series of ambitious global trade initiatives in 2025, aimed at boosting Nigeria’s economic standing and fostering stronger ties with international business communities. Following a successful year of promoting trade and investment across multiple sectors, GCCI is now shifting focus to two major events scheduled for 2025: the National AgricWeek & Food Expo in Abuja, and the World Trade Pilgrimage alongside the Buy Nigeria Expo and Exhibition, which will feature business delegations traveling to Asia and the Pacific.
The upcoming National AgricWeek & Food Expo 2025, set to take place in Abuja, is expected to serve as a platform for showcasing Nigeria’s agricultural potential. The event will gather local and international stakeholders, including farmers, investors, and policy makers, to discuss sustainable agricultural practices, food security, and investment opportunities in the agribusiness sector. With Nigeria’s agriculture playing a crucial role in its GDP, this expo is designed to position the nation as a global leader in food production and agritech innovation.
In addition, the World Trade Pilgrimage and Buy Nigeria Expo and Exhibition will further advance GCCI’s mission of promoting Nigerian-made products on the global stage. With planned trade missions and business delegations set to visit Asia and the Pacific in 2025, the goal is to foster international trade relations and open up new markets for Nigerian goods. According to Nwabueze George, founder of GCCI, these initiatives will expand Nigeria’s global footprint in trade and commerce.
“Our focus is on creating sustainable economic growth for Nigeria by connecting local businesses to international markets. The 2025 projects, particularly the Buy Nigeria Expo and the AgricWeek, will not only showcase our industries but also strengthen Nigeria’s position as a viable investment destination,” said George.
GCCI has already made significant strides in 2024, hosting several impactful events, including trade delegations to Europe and participation in international economic forums. These efforts have laid the groundwork for the larger initiatives planned for next year. Through these upcoming projects, GCCI is set to deepen Nigeria’s involvement in global trade while simultaneously driving local economic empowerment.
“We believe in the potential of Nigerian products to compete globally, and our mission is to bridge the gap between local industries and global opportunities. Our 2025 initiatives are tailored to achieve just that—pushing for economic progress, job creation, and global recognition of Nigeria’s industrial capabilities,” George added.
The long-term vision of GCCI extends beyond these expos, as they continue to work closely with government bodies, international organizations, and local businesses to ensure that Nigeria remains a top contender in global trade.
As preparations ramp up for the National AgricWeek & Food Expo and World Trade Pilgrimage, 2025 is set to be a landmark year for Nigerian industries under the banner of GCCI. These events promise to drive investment, enhance export opportunities, and pave the way for economic growth that aligns with Nigeria’s goal of becoming a trade powerhouse in Africa and beyond.
