Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has expressed his delight over the increasing number of All Progressives Congress (APC) governors in Nigeria’s South-South region. Otu, who had previously been the only APC governor in the six-state region, welcomed the election of Senator Monday Okpebholo as the Governor of Edo State, marking a significant win for the party.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Gill Nsa, Governor Otu hailed the victory as a promising indicator of unity and collaboration within the region, believing it will strengthen the South-South’s influence in national politics.

“The APC’s triumph in Edo State is a testament to the diligence, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public service,” Otu said, highlighting the party’s core values and principles. He expressed confidence that Senator Okpebholo will uphold these values as he leads Edo State toward a brighter future.
