Francis Njoku, a cab driver for the Indrive ride-hailing service, has threatened to sue popular Nigerian actress Adunni Ade after she accused him of stealing a package meant for her. The dispute began on Wednesday when Adunni called out the driver on Instagram, alleging that Njoku ended the trip prematurely and absconded with her package, refusing to answer her calls.
In her post, Adunni expressed frustration with the ride-hailing service, stating, “@indrive.ng I have contacted you for hours but no response. One of your drivers has stolen my package. He ended the trip before getting to me and not picking up calls.” Her accusations quickly drew public condemnation towards the company.
However, in a follow-up post, Adunni confirmed that the package was eventually delivered after Indrive locked Njoku’s profile. She also shared screenshots of conversations between herself, Njoku, and her fashion designer, who sent the package.
Njoku, on the other hand, reacted strongly to the accusations, claiming his reputation had been damaged by the public allegations. In his response, he threatened legal action against the actress, saying, “You have made nonsense of my image and I have contacted my legal team… You must render an unreserved apology and ask Instablog to pull the post down.”
Adunni, standing by her initial statement, fired back, stating that she has never encountered anyone as “rude, ill-mannered, arrogant, uncivilized, and entitled” as Njoku. She maintained that she does not lie and urged individuals to reflect on their own behavior before demanding change from others.
The situation remains tense, as both parties have yet to reach a resolution, and Njoku appears set on pursuing legal redress.
