The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries has addressed the controversy surrounding a viral testimony from one of its members, clarifying that the church does not fabricate testimonies, and warning the public to be cautious of misleading content online.

Pastor Chidi Louis, Head of Public Relations and Media for the church, responded to the growing criticism of a viral video where a woman appeared to claim that she disarmed four armed robbers and took possession of what she called an “AK-27.” In a statement, Louis explained that the testimony was misinterpreted, as the woman was recounting a dream, not a real-life event. He urged Nigerians to watch the full version of the testimony for proper context, which has been made available on the church’s official TikTok account.

“We want to clarify that the testimony being circulated online has been manipulated by certain bloggers. The lady’s testimony was about a dream, and not an actual occurrence,” Pastor Louis stated. “We caution the public against believing everything posted on social media, as many bloggers alter content to mock the church’s message and work.”

The viral video led to widespread online ridicule, where some mocked the woman’s reference to an “AK-27,” which was later corrected by a pastor in the video to “AK-47.” The church has since released the complete footage of the testimony, emphasizing that the incident was symbolic and spiritual in nature.

Louis also criticized what he described as a growing trend of using social media to discredit religious organizations, calling such actions “wicked and devilish.” He encouraged believers to focus on their faith and warned against falling for edited or misleading online content.
