Senator John Enoh, Nigeria’s Minister of Sports Development, has fallen victim to a hacking incident involving his WhatsApp account. The breach was confirmed in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Diana-Mary Nsan, on Monday.
The statement cautioned the public against interacting with any messages sent from the compromised number. “We urgently inform you that the WhatsApp number of Honourable Minister Senator John Owan Enoh has been hacked,” Nsan announced. “Please refrain from responding to any requests or messages from this number, as they do not come from the Minister.”
Nsan assured the public that efforts are underway to resolve the issue and restore the security of the account. “The situation is being addressed, and we appreciate your understanding and patience during this time,” she added.
Enoh, who was appointed to his ministerial position by President Bola Tinubu in August 2023, has not yet commented personally on the hacking incident.
