Popular Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has urged her fans to avoid becoming sacrificial lambs for anyone, regardless of their relationship. Aiyeola shared her reflections on the tragic circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing, warning against the dangers of compromising one’s conscience for wealth or influence.
In an emotional post on her Instagram story, the actress highlighted the key lessons she has learned from the case, emphasizing the futility of seeking wealth at the cost of integrity. “The risk of getting your conscience dirty for wealth is not worth it in the end. The love for money and fear of supreme influence will turn even your blood and loved ones against you,” she wrote. She went on to caution her followers not to sacrifice themselves for others under the guise of family or loyalty, as those sacrifices may ultimately be taken for granted.
Mohbad, whose death on September 12, 2023, remains surrounded by questions, sparked widespread calls for justice. His body was exhumed for an autopsy at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) on September 21, 2023, following pressure from fans and the public. However, by June 2024, the pathologist conducting the autopsy admitted that it was inconclusive in determining the exact cause of the singer’s death.
In response to the findings, Mohbad’s family has called for an independent autopsy, raising further concerns about the unresolved circumstances of his death. Aiyeola’s post resonates with those who continue to seek answers, while also serving as a broader message about the perils of blind loyalty and the pursuit of wealth.
