The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has confirmed that it will commence lifting Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from Dangote Refinery starting September 15, 2024. This announcement was made by NNPCL’s Executive Vice President of Downstream, Adedapo Segun, during a segment on TVC News’ “Journalists’ Hangout” on Thursday.

Segun emphasized that the Lagos-based refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is set to boost Nigeria’s fuel supply. Despite ongoing fuel scarcity across the nation, Segun assured Nigerians that NNPCL is working closely with fuel marketers to ensure stations operate efficiently and prevent product diversions.

This follows the recent statement by Dangote Refinery clarifying that NNPCL had not yet commenced lifting its products, despite the refinery’s official production launch earlier this week.
