Nigerian music sensation Divine Ikubor, better known as Rema, has donated a staggering N105 million to Christ Embassy Church in Benin City, Edo State, as a heartfelt gesture of gratitude for the church’s support during his challenging childhood years.

The Edo-born star made this donation during a thanksgiving service at the church’s Edo Regional Headquarters, located on Erediauwa Street off Ekenwa Road. Rema, who was in Benin City to celebrate Edo@33 and to perform at the groundbreaking ceremony of the 6,000-capacity Edo Dome, took the opportunity to give back to the church that had played a pivotal role in his family’s life following the death of his father when he was just eight years old.

Speaking at the service, Rema recounted the difficult period his family endured after the loss of his father. “When I was eight years old and lost my dad, we felt very lost and abandoned. Everything we had was taken from us, and we felt alone. But it was the pastors of this church, Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas, who opened a shop for my mum, which she managed to feed us,” he said, reflecting on the church’s generosity.
