The Arewa Youths Awareness on Leadership and Election group has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his decision to improve the welfare of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members as part of the new national minimum wage implementation.

In a press statement released on Friday, the group’s chairman, Khamis Darazo, commended the Federal Government for raising the monthly allowance of NYSC members to N77,000, calling it a timely and crucial intervention in light of the country’s rising cost of living.

Darazo stated, “The increase in the monthly allowance of NYSC members is timely, considering the rising cost of living in the country. The new allowance will help the corps members cushion the effects of rising inflation, the hike in transportation fares, electricity costs, and the removal of fuel subsidy.”
