As the thrilling BBNaija Season 9 draws to a close, fans are eagerly counting down to what promises to be an electrifying finale.
Last Sunday’s eviction show, described as a “rollercoaster” by host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, saw three housemates leave the competition. With just eight contestants remaining—Anita, Nelly, Ocee, Onyeka, Victoria, Sooj, Kellyrae, and Wanni— the battle for the coveted BBNaija crown and the N100 million grand prize is more intense than ever.
The evictions started swiftly, with Kassia being the first to exit the house. Her departure left her husband, Kellyrae, who was guaranteed a spot in the finale as Head of House, to continue the journey solo. Kassia expressed no regrets, saying, “I don’t think I was limited… I enjoyed myself,” dismissing the idea that being in the house with her husband had affected her experience.
Kellyrae shocked his fellow housemates by revealing his secret marriage to Kassia after her exit, receiving a mix of reactions. Meanwhile, Sooj was put in the spotlight as Ebuka probed into his relationship with Nelly. Sooj admitted, “She’s my favorite person in the house,” but was quick to clarify that there were no labels on their connection.
Anita and Topher, however, had no such hesitations, boldly calling themselves “lovers,” much to the delight of the live studio audience. But the joy was short-lived as Topher was next to be evicted. He left with a touching sentiment, stating that his first thought was “how to support my boy [Sooj] from the outside.”
The night ended with Ocee’s eviction, where he confidently spoke about staying loyal to his partner and forming strong female friendships within the house.
Though the housemates won their fourth consecutive wager, it wasn’t without drama. Former housemates Chinwe, Damilola, and Rhuthee made a temporary return, stirring up tension. Wanni didn’t hold back when asked about the visit, calling out the trio for bringing “negativity and toxicity” into the house.
As the countdown to Sunday’s grand finale intensifies, the spotlight is on the final eight contestants, but only one will walk away with the grand prize worth N100 million. Voting lines close on Friday, October 4, at 10 pm WAT, leaving it up to the viewers to decide the ultimate winner.
