Deji Adeleke, father of superstar singer Davido, has revealed that his company generates 15% of Nigeria’s electricity. The billionaire businessman disclosed this during the Seventh-Day Adventist Church’s General Conference on October 15, 2024. Adeleke, who owns several power plants in the country, mentioned that his latest project, a 1,250 MW thermal power plant, is set to launch in January 2025, making it the largest of its kind in Nigeria. He further noted his reliance on Chinese engineering firms for these projects.

Davido had previously mentioned his family’s significant contribution to Nigeria’s electricity distribution during an appearance on the ‘Business Untitled’ podcast in April 2024, stating that the family owns four power plants that supply electricity to a large part of the country.
