A tragic incident unfolded in Lagos as the state police arrested a commercial sex worker, Joy Kelvin, for allegedly stabbing a 48-year-old client, Okafor, to death. The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the arrest through its Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on Monday.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday, around 5:32 a.m., at Jakande Housing Estate, Lekki, where Okafor had invited the suspect to his residence for the night. A friend of the deceased reported the crime at the Ilasan Police Division after receiving a distress call about Okafor’s stabbing.

According to SP Hundeyin, “A complainant reported that Okafor was stabbed by Joy Kelvin, a prostitute he had brought to his house overnight. The victim was rushed to the General Hospital, Marina, but was pronounced dead upon arrival by the medical team.”

Following the report, police detectives visited the scene and promptly arrested Joy Kelvin. The victim’s body has been moved to the General Hospital Mortuary in Yaba for preservation and an autopsy.

Authorities are now working to notify Okafor’s family as investigations continue to uncover the full details behind the tragic incident.
