President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday led Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and other dignitaries to celebrate Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary with a grand military parade at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The event, marked by impressive military displays and cultural performances, kicked off with President Tinubu’s arrival at 10 a.m. where he was welcomed by the Guards Brigade. The President inspected the troops and then took the national salute from the saluting dais, signaling the official commencement of the celebration.

The highlight of the event included a ceremonial change of guards by the Nigerian Armed Forces, symbolizing the country’s national and military pride. Guests were treated to cultural performances by troupes representing the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, showcasing the nation’s diversity.

President Tinubu, alongside Vice President Shettima and other top officials, signed the anniversary register and cut the Independence Day cake. The festivities concluded with the symbolic release of pigeons, representing peace and hope for Nigeria’s future.
