Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, a military task force combating insecurity in the northern region, successfully neutralized five bandits during an early morning gunfight in Mararaban Kyaware, Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State, on Wednesday.

According to counter-terrorism expert Zagazola Makama, the military launched the operation based on actionable intelligence, engaging the bandits in a fierce exchange of fire. Several other bandits sustained injuries and fled the scene.

This operation follows closely on the heels of the neutralization of notorious bandit leader Kachalla Ibrahim Gurgun Daji, who was eliminated by military operatives in Kwanar Nasiru village near Mada, the state capital Gusau, less than 48 hours earlier.
