A tragic incident unfolded in Adamawa State where a man, Markus Dali, was killed while trying to break up a fight between two men in the Sina Kwande community of Michika Local Government Area. Dali, acting as a peacemaker, was attempting to intervene in a brawl between Barka Yama and Alex Tari when Yama allegedly delivered a fatal punch to him. Dali collapsed and was later pronounced dead by doctors after being rushed to the hospital.

The Adamawa State Police Command has since arrested 32-year-old Barka Yama, who has been charged with culpable homicide. The case was brought before Chief Magistrate Court I in Yola, where Yama pleaded guilty.

The presiding Chief Magistrate, Muhammed Njidda, granted the prosecutor’s request to remand the defendant in a correctional facility while awaiting further legal advice from the Department of Public Prosecution.
