Nigerian Afrobeat star Seun Kuti recently opened up about his disappointment at not being invited to Davido’s wedding to Chioma Rowland, which took place on June 25, 2024, in Lagos. The grand affair was attended by dignitaries, celebrities, and political figures from across Nigeria, but Kuti was notably absent.

Speaking on the podcast Curiosity Made Me Ask hosted by Bae U Barbie, Seun Kuti revealed the deep emotional impact the exclusion had on him, sharing that he couldn’t sleep for a week after being snubbed. The pain was compounded by the fact that Davido, along with his entourage, frequently visited Seun’s family-run bar, the famous New Afrika Shrine, where they enjoyed drinks without paying. Kuti expressed that despite this close relationship, he did not receive an invitation to the star-studded wedding.
