Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to deliver a keynote address at the 2024 Zuma International Film Festival in Abuja, scheduled to take place from December 1st to 5th. This prestigious event is a major platform for showcasing African and global cinema.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture, and Creative Economy, revealed that Shettima’s lecture, titled “Digital Ecosystem Redefining African Cinema,” will focus on the transformative role of digital technology in driving job creation, wealth generation, and regional trade within the film industry.

Musawa emphasized that the festival, organized by the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) in partnership with the Federal Capital Territory Administration, is part of efforts to position Nigeria as a creative hub, not only in Africa but globally.

“The Vice President’s lecture will highlight the pivotal role of the digital ecosystem in revitalizing African cinema and place Nigeria at the forefront of global cultural dialogue,” Musawa stated.

The event will also feature interactive discussions with experts across the continent, alongside a series of cultural and creative showcases, aiming to propel Nigeria’s status in the international creative scene.
