Tantita Security Services Ltd. has awarded N2.5 million to top-performing students in the Delta State Inter-School Public Speaking Competition. The event, themed “The Impact of Technology in Combatting Crude Oil Theft and Pipeline Vandalism,” showcased students’ eloquence and insight into one of the region’s most pressing challenges.
Dom Domingos College, Warri, emerged as the overall winner, receiving N1 million, while Edjeba Secondary School claimed the first runner-up spot with N800,000, and Ighogbadu Secondary School came third, taking home N700,000.
Captain Warredi Enisuoh, Executive Director of Tantita Security, praised the students for their remarkable performances, noting that the competition was a collaborative effort between Tantita and the Godfrey PondiBook Club to promote education as part of their corporate social responsibility. He announced that the prize pool had been increased from the initial N1 million to N2.5 million to further motivate the participants.
“The competition wasn’t just about public speaking. It was about understanding and providing solutions to crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism, issues deeply affecting our region,” Enisuoh remarked. He also hinted at future initiatives, including scholarships and more financial support for schools.
Teachers from the participating schools lauded the competition, emphasizing its role in nurturing students’ talents and encouraging innovative thinking on critical issues.
