TikTok has taken down more than 2.1 million videos from its Nigerian users in the second quarter of 2024 for violating its community standards. According to TikTok’s Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, the social media giant highlighted its proactive approach in moderating content and maintaining user safety on the platform.

The report revealed that 99.1% of the flagged videos were removed before users even reported them, with 90.7% taken down within 24 hours. These figures underscore TikTok’s growing efficiency in handling harmful content, as the platform continues to evolve its content moderation technology. The removed videos accounted for less than 1% of all uploads in Nigeria during this period. Globally, TikTok removed over 178 million videos, using advanced automated tools to detect 98.2% of violating content proactively.
