President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has left the United Kingdom for Paris, France, following a week-long stay in the UK. His Senior Special Assistant, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, revealed this through a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating that they had productive discussions before departing for Paris for an “important engagement.”
While details of Tinubu’s engagement in Paris have not been disclosed, his trip has raised eyebrows as Nigerians continue to grapple with economic hardship. This follows the recent hike in fuel prices by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), which saw the price of petrol soar to ₦1,030 per litre.
President Tinubu left Nigeria for the UK on October 2 for a two-week working vacation as part of his annual leave. His departure comes amid widespread discontent over rising costs of living, with many Nigerians expressing frustration at the fuel price hike and its ripple effects on transportation, goods, and services.
