The Wear Africa Expo UK 2025 will bring Nigeria’s vibrant textile heritage and craftsmanship to London, taking place from January 12-16 at the Business Design Centre, Islington. Organized by the Made in Nigeria Project Office, the event is themed “Africa Inspired, A Bold Africa” and seeks to promote Nigerian-made goods to a global audience.
National Project Coordinator, Nwabueze George, emphasized the expo’s role in economic empowerment. “This event is more than an exhibition; it’s a platform connecting Nigerian designers with international markets,” he said, highlighting the potential for new trade opportunities with the UK.
Alongside the exhibition, the Bold Africa Economic Forum will host discussions on the challenges and opportunities within the African fashion industry. Experts will explore topics like sustainable production, trade policies, and scaling African exports, aiming to position Nigerian textiles and leather goods for greater global reach.
The expo aligns with Nigeria’s “Made in Nigeria” initiative, which aims to elevate locally crafted products on the world stage. This initiative underscores Nigeria’s commitment to quality and sustainability, promoting the nation’s unique cultural assets as part of its economic growth strategy.
The event is expected to attract international buyers, fashion enthusiasts, and members of the African diaspora. Featured items will include traditional Nigerian textiles like Adire and Asoke, along with high-quality leather goods, showcasing the depth of Nigeria’s artistry.
