The publisher of NaijaDailyNews247, Success Nwabueze Onyekachi, has reportedly been abducted from his office in Umuahia, Abia State, by unknown individuals believed to be security operatives. This development has raised concerns across media circles and social media platforms, with friends, family, and the public expressing alarm over his sudden disappearance.

Onyekachi, who previously served as the Special Adviser on Social Media to a former governor of Abia State, was reportedly taken by individuals, one of whom allegedly identified as an official of the Department of State Services (DSS). However, the DSS has yet to issue any statement confirming or denying involvement.

Close contacts of the publisher, including his family and associates, have reportedly been unable to reach him since his disappearance. Concerned friends took to social media, calling for his immediate release and decrying the apparent lack of transparency surrounding his disappearance.

Jude Chijioke Ndukwe, a friend of Onyekachi, took to Facebook to condemn the situation, calling it “despotic and tyrannical” for a citizen to disappear without a trace. “What is Abia State turning into? Where is Onyekachi Nwabueze?” he questioned in his post.

Another Facebook user, Ikechukwu Kelvin, echoed the call for Onyekachi’s release, adding to the growing social media outcry.

Notably, Onyekachi’s last Facebook post, shared on October 29, touched on the issue of unknown gunmen in the Southeast and included a comment about Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, referencing the fear that the governor reportedly feels towards these unidentified assailants. It remains unclear if this post is related to his disappearance.

When newsmen reached out to the Abia State Police Command, Public Relations Officer Chinaka Maureen stated that she had no information on the situation but encouraged Onyekachi’s associates to file a report at the nearest police station to initiate further action.
