Despite breaking several other records on the platform, none of the songs from Morayo managed to surpass Davido’s achievement of occupying the top 16 spots on the Spotify Nigeria Daily Top Songs Chart for two consecutive days with his album Timeless.
The recognition came via a post by music-monitoring platform The Data Dash on X, which stated, “@davido remains the only artist to occupy the Top 16 spots on the Spotify Nigeria Daily Top Songs Chart for 2 consecutive days, with all new songs from his album ‘Timeless’.” Davido reposted the message with a simple yet emphatic response: “Remains the only!”
Released in 2023, Timeless shattered streaming records, setting a benchmark for subsequent albums in Nigeria. Wizkid’s Morayo, though critically acclaimed and widely streamed, fell short of this milestone, highlighting the stiff competition between the two giants of Afrobeats.
