The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, will inaugurate the School Protection Squad in Ogun State, an initiative aimed at bolstering the safety and security of schools across the region. The unveiling will take place during a two-day event themed “Capacity Building for Security Agencies and Other Stakeholders” scheduled for November 26–27, 2024.

According to Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, the initiative includes rapid response deployments, vehicular patrols, and orientation sessions to educate students, principals, and school partners on safer security practices.

The programme will convene security agencies, government bodies, traditional rulers, and private sector representatives to foster collaboration and explore innovative strategies for protecting schools. Stakeholders will engage in discussions aimed at ensuring every child’s safety within Ogun State’s educational institutions.
