Imo State Deputy Governor, Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru, has called on the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to intensify its efforts in improving road safety services across the state. Addressing FRSC officials during a recent meeting, Deputy Governor Ekomaru emphasized the need for effective road management to reduce traffic accidents and ensure the safety of road users.
Ekomaru acknowledged the FRSC’s contributions but highlighted the rising challenges on Imo’s roads due to increased vehicular traffic and road misuse. She urged the Corps to adopt modern traffic management techniques, increase public awareness, and strengthen enforcement to address issues of over-speeding, reckless driving, and adherence to road safety rules.
Reiterating the Uzodinma administration’s commitment to public safety, Ekomaru pledged the state government’s support for initiatives that would enhance FRSC’s operations, including infrastructure upgrades and improved road safety policies. She also called on residents to cooperate with FRSC efforts, stressing the importance of shared responsibility in ensuring safe and secure roads for all.
