President Bola Tinubu, after a powerful address at the Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, departs Saudi Arabia today at 3:40 PM local time.

The Nigerian leader joined Heads of State from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the League of Arab States to address the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, calling for an end to ongoing Israeli-Palestinian hostilities.

In his address, Tinubu voiced Nigeria’s deep concern over the “immeasurable suffering” endured by Palestinians and reasserted the need for a two-state solution where Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace and security.

“The conflict in Palestine has persisted far too long, and no political aim, military strategy, or security concern should justify the cost of innocent lives,” Tinubu stated, echoing Nigeria’s support for an immediate ceasefire.

The summit served as a follow-up to last year’s Riyadh meeting, focusing on humanitarian aid, ceasefire advocacy, and strategies for lasting peace. Tinubu stressed that the global community’s response must move beyond “empty condemnations” to meaningful action.
