President Bola Tinubu is set to depart Nigeria on Sunday for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he will join global leaders at the highly anticipated Joint Arab-Islamic Summit. Scheduled to commence on Monday, November 11, the summit will focus on pressing issues in the Middle East, with particular attention on the escalating Israel-Palestinian conflict.

Invited by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Tinubu is expected to deliver a strong message advocating for an immediate ceasefire and renewed efforts toward a peaceful resolution in the region. According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will also call for a revival of the two-state solution, stressing that “peace and coexistence are critical for long-term stability in the Middle East.”

The Nigerian delegation includes prominent officials such as National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Information and National Orientation Alhaji Mohammed Idris, and Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed. Their presence highlights Nigeria’s commitment to playing an active role in Middle Eastern peace talks and fostering diplomatic relations in the Arab-Islamic world.
