A fatal accident in Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State claimed the lives of 10 people on Sunday night, leaving only one passenger alive with serious injuries. The crash occurred when a Toyota Hummer bus carrying 11 passengers collided with a parked trailer, resulting in the bus overturning and causing immediate fatalities.

The incident unfolded in Yanfari village along the busy Kano-Hadejia Road. According to eyewitnesses, the bus, en route from Kano to Hadejia, struck a stationary trailer with registration number RGN 180 ZC. The impact caused the vehicle to somersault, killing the driver and nine passengers instantly. Police and emergency personnel arrived swiftly on the scene to transport the injured survivor to Majia Primary Health Care Centre, where they are receiving treatment.

Jigawa State Police spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu, confirmed the accident, detailing that it took place around 9:30 p.m. The Toyota bus, driven by Sani Mainasara, struck the trailer with such force that all but one passenger perished at the scene. Local authorities evacuated the deceased to Hadejia General Hospital for identification and examination, where a medical officer confirmed their deaths.
