Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has boldly predicted that Chelsea will finish above reigning Premier League champions Manchester City this season. Carragher made the statement during The Overlap watchalong after Chelsea’s emphatic 5-1 win over Southampton on Wednesday night.
Chelsea, under manager Enzo Maresca, currently sit second in the table after 14 games, boasting 31 goals—the highest in the league—and only two losses. Carragher praised their dominance and style of play, pointing to impressive performances against Arsenal and Liverpool as evidence of their title credentials.
“Chelsea are going to finish above Man City,” Carragher said. “They’re winning games with ease. Arsenal worry me more as a Liverpool fan because they’re more machine-like, but Chelsea are playing so well.”
The Blues’ resurgence has reignited their Premier League ambitions, with many now seeing them as serious contenders in the title race.
