Afrobeats superstar Kizz Daniel has boldly declared he will quit music if anyone, apart from fellow artist Runtown, comes forward to claim they have written songs for him. The “Buga” hitmaker made the statement while praising Runtown on his X handle, describing him as the first person to ever write a song for him.

“For the first time in my life, Person write song for me and na Runtown… Sound God is not human,” Kizz Daniel wrote.

When an X user, @KTwinBlog, questioned the authenticity of his statement, Kizz Daniel fired back, saying, “Make any mofo come out say dem write for me I go stop music right now.”

The debate underscores the ongoing discussion about songwriting in Nigeria’s music industry, where the use of songwriters is often seen as controversial. While songwriting is widely accepted globally, Nigerian fans have been less forgiving, perceiving artists who use songwriters as less talented. Prominent singer Davido, for instance, has faced criticism for openly admitting to using songwriters.

Kizz Daniel’s declaration has sparked widespread reactions, with fans and industry players applauding his confidence and artistry.
