The Federal Government has reiterated the importance of patronizing and promoting Made-in-Nigeria goods and services as a pathway to sustainable economic development. Speaking at the Regional and State Coordinators Conference on Made-in-Nigeria in Abuja, Mohammed Sanusi Danjuma, Permanent Secretary, Special Services Office, emphasized the need for collective action to drive the initiative forward.
Represented by Musiliu Oladunjoye, Director of the International Organisation Department, Danjuma described the conference as a vital step toward economic growth under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda. He highlighted the role of collaboration, innovation, and capacity building in bolstering the Made-in-Nigeria project.
George Nwabueze, National Coordinator of the project, underscored its potential to transform Nigeria’s economic landscape. “This initiative is not just a slogan but a movement to showcase Nigeria’s creativity, resilience, and untapped potential. Let us make Nigeria proud as we embark on this transformative journey,” he said, urging citizens to support local entrepreneurs, artisans, and innovators.
Barrister Promise Ogadinma Mbani, Eastern Coordinator for Made-in-Nigeria Products, identified cultural bias for foreign goods as a significant challenge. He called for the registration, standardization, and promotion of local products to enhance patronage at home and abroad. Mbani emphasized the importance of educating and sensitizing Nigerians about the benefits of supporting local industries.
The event also included the inauguration and presentation of State Coordinators for the project, aimed at further decentralizing efforts to promote Made-in-Nigeria products across the nation.
