Nollywood veteran Rita Edochie has condemned the persistent spread of false death rumors about her colleague, Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw. Edochie revealed that this is the second time baseless claims about Pawpaw’s demise have trended on social media, with gullible fans leaving “RIP” messages on the posts.

The actress also recalled being a victim of similar false news, where a photo of her from a movie set was used to declare her dead. Expressing frustration in an Instagram post, Edochie criticized the reckless abuse of social media, stating that while the platform has been a source of empowerment for many Nigerian youths, its misuse for spreading harmful and false information is deeply troubling.

Pictures of my great son and veteran colleague, Osita Iheme, popularly known as Pawpaw, trended everywhere on social media with captions that they were dead. Crazy netizens believed the fake gist and began commenting RIP on themselves,” she wrote.
