President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reshuffled the leadership of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), replacing Hon. Emeka Atuma as chairman with Emeka Nworgu. The President also revised the board, naming new executive directors and retaining the Commission’s Managing Director/CEO, Hon. Mark C. Okoye.

According to a statement by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu approved Stanley Ohajuruka as Executive Director for Finance, Toby Okechukwu as Executive Director of Projects, and Chief Sylvester Okonkwo as Executive Director of Corporate Services. New executive directors without portfolios are Chidi Echeazu and Clifford Ogbede.

The President retained notable board members, including Barr. Ugochukwu H. Agballah, Chief Hyacinth Ikpor, and others. The new nominees must be confirmed by the Senate. Tinubu expects the revamped board to spearhead the Commission’s mandate and catalyze development in the Southeast.
