A devastating accident involving a school bus and a trailer claimed the lives of two students from Borno State University on Wednesday, critically injuring three others. Fifteen additional students are receiving medical attention, while ten escaped unscathed.

The tragic incident occurred when a trailer collided with the university bus, which was transporting thirty students. The impact resulted in the instant deaths of two students and left others in critical condition.

Umar Garkuwa, the university’s spokesperson, confirmed that the injured students are being treated at Umaru Shehu Hospital and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH). The Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Student Affairs are personally supervising medical responses to ensure the best care for the affected students.
