In a notable act of community justice, a man identified as Ukazu was apprehended by Otampa Security Services in Akoba Otampa, Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State, for allegedly stealing a woman’s mobile phone. Following his arrest, Ukazu was publicly paraded through the community, underscoring the local security outfit’s commitment to transparency and deterrence.

Unable to meet the restitution demand of ₦100,000, Ukazu offered alternative compensation, including a sheep, a goat, a mobile phone, and two plastic chairs. The community granted him a one-month period to fulfill this obligation, after which the pledged items would be forfeited if he fails to comply. The stolen phone has since been recovered and returned to its rightful owner, demonstrating the effectiveness of the community’s swift response.
