Tragedy struck in Asaba, Delta State, as Miss Chinagozorm Lucy Eze was brutally murdered in her apartment, sparking outrage and demands for justice.

The incident, which occurred two days ago, has left the community in shock. While initial reports suggested rape, Delta State Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe clarified, “Murdered, yes. Rape, no, because there is no evidence to show that.”

A local advocacy group, the Initiative for Social Rights Concerns and Advancement (ISRCA), has called for a thorough investigation by the Delta State Police Command, led by CP Olufemi Abaniwonda. The group’s National Coordinator, Comrade Derrick Oritsematosan Agberen, emphasized, “This crime should not go unnoticed or unpunished, particularly in the state capital.”

The group urged authorities to interrogate residents, colleagues, and close associates to gather leads, stressing that such heinous acts demand swift action to ensure public safety and justice.

Delta Police confirmed the ongoing investigation but have yet to identify or apprehend suspects in connection with the case.
