Controversial Nigerian artist, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has called out renowned Nollywood actor Odunlade Adekola following a trending video featuring the actor and Portable’s baby mama, actress Ashabi Simple.
The viral clip, which surfaced on January 21, 2025, shows Ashabi hugging Odunlade as he playfully asked whether she had sought Portable’s permission for the embrace. Sharing the video on his Instagram page, Odunlade quipped, “Please, for God’s sake, hope you have taken permission from Portable before hugging me? Please go and inform him, oo.”
Portable, known for his fiery personality, did not take the comment lightly. In a direct message to Odunlade, the singer expressed his displeasure, emphasizing his respect for his home and urging the actor to avoid making such remarks.
He wrote in Pidgin English: “Wetin you talk inside that video with Ashabi Simple? Please, I respect my home and I no dey use am do movie. Why you go talk say she tell me before coming? Shey una no dey collect money for her hand ni?”
The singer further lamented the public’s perception of him, saying, “But why everybody dey talk say I get wahala? Make una dey talk good about me. Me self, I dey loyal, o. Loyalty pass juju.”
The incident has sparked heated conversations on social media, with fans and critics weighing in on the unfolding drama. Many are questioning if Portable’s reaction was justified or an overreaction, while others are calling for a reconciliation between the two entertainers.
