Real Madrid’s Brazilian sensation, Endrick, has credited his teammate Antonio Rüdiger for helping him break a prolonged goal drought after his stunning performance in a 5-2 victory against Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey on Thursday night. The 18-year-old forward, who scored twice in the match, revealed that Rüdiger’s tough-love approach has been instrumental in his progress.

Endrick’s brace came during a dramatic last-16 encounter at the Bernabéu. Despite leading 2-0, Madrid allowed Celta Vigo to equalize in the 91st minute. However, Carlo Ancelotti’s men bounced back with three goals in extra time to secure their place in the quarter-finals.

Speaking to Real Madrid TV, Endrick praised Rüdiger for his mentorship during challenging times. “My two goals are for Antonio Rüdiger. He knows what he does for me every day. He never praises me, and that’s a good thing! He tells me what to do, to score, to run, to keep fighting,” Endrick explained.

He added, “Yesterday in training, he gave me a tough game. I was thinking about it at home, and he’s a great person. The goals are for him.”

Endrick began the season on a high note, scoring in both LaLiga and the Champions League. However, his form dipped, and he hadn’t scored since September 17. With limited playing time, totaling just 83 league minutes this campaign, the young forward’s recent performance underscores his resilience and determination.

Rüdiger’s tough but supportive guidance has clearly paid off, as Endrick’s return to form provides a significant boost for Real Madrid in their quest for silverware this season.
