In a distressing incident in Dubeli, Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State, 20-year-old Jamila Ishiaku has been arrested for pouring boiling water on her pregnant sister-in-law during a heated argument. The victim sustained severe burns, particularly on her back, and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Jamila expressed remorse, stating, “I didn’t think it would go this far. I was just angry.” The Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the arrest and assured that the suspect would face legal consequences for her actions.
The victim’s family is demanding justice. Her sister, Nefisat Dahiru, emphasized the need for decisive action from the authorities, while the victim’s husband, Gambo Dahiru, lamented, “My wife has been crying uncontrollably. I am seeking justice for her. The law should take its course.”
