Victor Ikpeba, a former Super Eagles star and member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) technical committee, has urged Nigerians to rally behind newly-appointed Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle.
Chelle’s appointment has sparked mixed reactions among fans and pundits. Addressing the concerns, Ikpeba emphasized the importance of collective support for the team’s success.
“The appointment of a coach for the Super Eagles will always generate a lot of interest. This is one of the biggest countries in Africa, and the passion around the national team is unmatched,” Ikpeba told Brila FM.
The former Monaco forward added, “Even if we had appointed Pep Guardiola, there would still be complaints. Arguments and debates are part of the process that leads to success.”
Eric Chelle, 47, is expected in Nigeria this weekend to sign a two-year contract to officially begin his tenure with the Super Eagles.
