Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has expressed deep disappointment in music icon 2Baba over his recent public announcement of his separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, criticizing the timing as insensitive.
Taking to Instagram, Ojo faulted 2Baba’s decision to make the revelation at a time when Annie was already facing backlash over her appearance on the reality show Young, Famous & African.
“A heartfelt reminder to couples: when love fades, prioritize your children’s well-being. As parents, sacrifices are essential. Never abandon loved ones in their darkest moments, even if separation or divorce is inevitable,” she wrote.
The actress emphasized the need for empathy, especially in sensitive matters concerning family, stating that social media can be ruthless to those directly involved.
“@official2baba, I adore you both, but this timing was off. Adding fuel to the fire and burning the mother of your kids who’s already vulnerable is so unempathetic. I’m disappointed,” Ojo added.
She also extended prayers to Annie, urging her to stay strong and focus on her children’s well-being, affirming that the turbulent phase would eventually pass.
