João Félix has expressed his desire to leave Chelsea before the January transfer window closes, citing frustration over limited playing opportunities. The 25-year-old forward, who rejoined Chelsea from Atlético Madrid in August 2024 for £44.5 million, has started only three Premier League matches this season.
Félix’s struggle for minutes comes as he competes with attackers like Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke, Christopher Nkunku, and Pedro Neto under manager Enzo Maresca. His absence from the squad during a recent match against Manchester City was attributed to a family bereavement, for which he was granted compassionate leave.
Aston Villa has shown interest in acquiring Félix, potentially on a loan deal. However, their simultaneous pursuit of Chelsea defender Axel Disasi may complicate matters, as loan regulations could limit them to signing only one player from the same club during this window.
Chelsea is currently exploring solutions following Félix’s request to depart, with the transfer deadline fast approaching.
