Kwara United’s technical adviser, Tunde Sanni, has attributed his team’s 2-1 defeat to Niger Tornadoes to a combination of misfortune and pivotal game incidents. The match, held on January 30, 2025, at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna, saw the Harmony Boys reduced to ten men early on.

Midfielder Isaa Gata received a red card for a reckless tackle on Tornadoes’ Abba Khalid, leaving Kwara United at a numerical disadvantage. Sanni commented, “Niger Tornadoes were a bit luckier in this game due to the red card and the careless goals we conceded.”
