Joseph Aloba, father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has revealed that his life has taken a positive turn since his son’s tragic death in September 2024. Speaking during an interview with media personality Akin Abolade on January 15, 2025, Aloba attributed his improved circumstances to the combined influence of Mohbad’s spirit and divine intervention.
Reflecting on his late son’s unfulfilled plans, Aloba expressed gratitude for the support he has received from well-wishers. He disclosed that people have gifted him essential items, including a car, which he believes were inspired by Mohbad’s spirit and God.
“Let me just say yes, my life got better after Mohbad’s death because he is my friend. He had plans to do many things for me, but they didn’t allow him to fulfill them,” Aloba stated. “After his death, it was the spirit of Mohbad and God combined that sent people to assist me. The car and everything I have now were gifts from people. It is beyond ordinary.”
Aloba’s comments come as investigations into Mohbad’s untimely death continue, with the cause still unknown. The 27-year-old artist, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, passed away in September 2024, leaving fans and the entertainment industry in shock.
Mohbad’s death has since sparked a wave of goodwill and calls for justice, with many supporters extending aid to his family. His father’s revelations highlight the enduring impact of the singer’s legacy and the support network that has emerged in the wake of his passing.
